We have the expertise and readily shareable knowledge for all actors,
dancers, and singers to help you get in the best shape for your respective roles. Focusing on
strength, functional fitness, and flexibility, we will provide you with full strength and
control over your body, meeting both your training and acting needs.
Connect with your inner zen or intensify your yoga practice. Clear your mind of the stresses
from busy show weeks and enter a state of stress-free calm. We help you reset and prepare your
mind and body through flexibility, balance, and breathwork.
Performing 5-6 days a week can take a toll on your body. We support
you post-injury and help rebuild your strength, regain flexibility, and achieve a full range of
motion in all your movements. Our sports therapy also focuses on pre-injury prevention and
ongoing therapy, including addressing current injuries.
At Physicality, we support all actors and company members when booking a show, rehearsals, and
throughout each contract. From leads and ensemble members to crew, every role plays an important part
and should receive specific fitness and injury prevention care to support their position.
Every programme is individually customised to achieve the best outcome for you and your acting needs and
performance goals. We leverage our own experience in acting, dancing, and performing to create the most
effective programme for you, including strength training, yoga, and sports therapy.
Why Training Matters

Actors have been injured
Eight out of ten actors have reported being injured at some point during their careers while
contracted on a show, with over half needing to take time off due to these injuries.
Of all the injuries reported, 27% occurred during rehearsals. Early implementation of injury
prevention strategies, including resistance training and sports therapy, should be
undertaken during rehearsals to reduce the risk of injury while contracted on a show.
We were tasked with helping Emily reduce back pain when lifting large heavy stage set piece backstage. We
targeted to improve leg strength, back stability with a focus on hinge movements and correct lifting
techniques while improving overall fitness.
Emily reported no back pain and felt more comfortable lifting large, heavy stage set piece with more ease by
the end of the shows run.

Yes! Training is always more fun with others. We offer not only one-on-one sessions and online
coaching but also small
group training (up to 6 people) and large group classes (over 7 people) for all training and yoga
sessions.
Sports therapy is always conducted as private one-on-one sessions.
We make training as convenient as possible. To achieve this, we use private and semi-private gyms
and studios around Central London, ensuring you can always find a session at a location that suits
you, based on where you work and live.
Alternatively, we can conduct sessions in your place of work or rehearsal space.
